Bow River Lodge No.1 is the first lodge established in Calgary when the city was a frontier settlement in 1884 and we initiated the creation of the Grand Lodge of Alberta in 1905. Lodge Members have been Calgary’s political and business leaders for over 135 years.
Bow River is called “The Thinking Man’s Lodge” for its commitment to Masonic Education – a focus of our meetings and publications – and visitors will enjoy presentations on history, philosophy, ethics, and many more thoughtful subjects.
